Hello everyone??
How are you all??
Sorry this is just going to be a super speedy email...lots of stuff to do here:)
But this week was awesome, even though it felt like the fastest week of my life. Something intersting happened Thursday night- we were just about to leave the apartment after dinner when we got a call from the mission president's wife telling us that we had an hour to pack some emergency things and evacuate to Maria, a neighboring town. I guess there was an earthquake in Chile and so this area of the Philippines was under potentiol tsunami warnings!! So we packed up and headed out! We stayed at the missionaries house in Maria, just one night, but it was kind of exciting haha. There was no tsunami thankfully, and so we returned the next morning, walang problema:)
Other than that, nothing else really exciting happened. Our relationships with the members here are getting better and we feel like we're their family now! We love them so much! The other day we weren't able to eat lunch and so we dropped by the tindahan of the Punzalan family, and we just going to buy chips or something, but she asked if we'd eaten and when we said not really she fed us lunch!! She's so sweet and I love her so much! I'm probably related to her too so that makes it even more fun:)
We're also seeing miracles here in the area. Missionaries talk about miracles all the time, and coming to Baler, I expected to see miracles as numbers. Like lots of baptisms, or church attendance suddenly going out the roof, but I've realized that these miracles, just like the ones at home, are small and simple things. The little changes or experiences that help strengthen our testimonies and help us to be happy- we've seen that happening in the lives of the people here, especially of the members. Those changes are things that maybe no one else will ever know about, but they know it and God knows it, and that's what matters:)
I love you all a ton!!
Take care always!!!
