Hello everyone!!!
How are ya'll doing? :)
This week has been just about the fastest week of my life! As in everyday has just been flying by. It's been a great week though and we've seen a lot of great things happening in the area- the Lord is defienly blessing the people here:)
I have a lot to talk about, but I'll just share a couple experiences from this week:)
1. Family Home Evening at Sister Armin's. On Saturday we went to her house and had a lesson about Lehi's dream and then had dinner. It was just a simple dinner that we brought- hotdogs, bread and packaged cookies, but we feasted spiritually and physically. They usually don't have a lot of food, and even though it was just simple, we were all so happy- not because of the food, but because of God's love and the friendship and peace we felt. It's hard to explain- you kind of just had to be there, but it was one of the happiest and satisfying experiences ko dito sa mission:) And then on Sunday she came to church!! Even though she was sick!! And she paid her tithing!! For so many months she's been avoiding the missionaries and making excuses, but know she's finally coming back and she is full of light!! It's because she's being obedient and doing her best! And she says her relationship with her husband is improving and that they have food and money to go to church...I love her so much:)
2. Carol is another of our recent converts/ less-actives. She was baptized last Decemember, but because of money too she has a hard time coming to church. She's so good though and she's come two weeks in a row now! Even yesterday, she missed sacrament because she got up late because she was sick, but she still wanted to come so she came! Even though she was late and not feeling great at all. She was glowing:) I love her too! And even though sometimes her and her husband have to skip meals so their kids can eat, she paid her tithing too! :)
3. Yesterday we went on splits, and as we were walking, we were planning on going to visit one less-active, but as we were going, I just had a feeling to go down this one path to a house we've tried 2 times already. But this time, a father was outside and we asked if we could teach him and his wife. They said yes, and even though it was just a 10 minute lesson, the spirit was so sweet and they said we can come back. This was the 2nd family we found this week and I'm so grateful for the guidance of the Spirit. I had no idea what I was going to say, but it just came out and they let us in. I know this Church is true:)
I wish ya'll could be here to really see and meet all the people I'm talking about, and I wish I could better describe what it's like to be a missionary. I write and sometimes it feels hollow and incomplete- I can't fully describe the joys, the peace, the comfort that we feel everyday, but I know you can feel it too. You don't need to be a missionary to feel these things actually! That's why we only have 18 months as a missionary and a 100 as a regular member- the Spirit is always available for those who keep His commandments:)
Love you tons!!!
